Irene Monley is an award-winning communications professional,
currently responsible for global HR communications at Tyco Electronics.
Formerly
principal of IM Associates, she worked with mid-sized and large organizations to strategically communicate their human resources
and benefits programs. Using her deep experience in human resources, she helped her clients accomplish their objectives with
strategic communications, i.e. understanding their audience, establishing goals and messages, leveraging existing communication
channels, clear writing, and measurement.
She developed these skills while working as director of employee benefit
communications at ICI Americas, a global specialty chemicals firm. In that role she worked with HR and benefits leaders to
develop award-winning communications for changing health and welfare, work/family life, 401(k) savings and pension plans.
Irene been a speaker at the Conference Board Employee Benefits Communications Seminar, several Lorman
Education seminars, the International Association of Business Communicators (IABC)
Leadership Conference, IABC Westfair, and the Delaware SHRM State HR Conference.
She serves as chair of the IABC Research Foundation and is a member of the Council of Communication Management and the Society for Human Resource Management (SHRM). She previously served on the IABC Executive Board and the Delaware SHRM board of directors.
Irene is an Accredited Business Communicator (ABC) and has earned the Chartered Life Underwriter (CLU) designation and Senior Professional in Human Resources (SPHR) certification. She earned a Bachelor of Arts degree
in English from Arcadia University and attended the Program for Manager Development at the Fuqua School of Business, Duke
University.
